The NATE-Certification Advantage

March 20, 2018

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is proud to send NATE-Certified technicians into customers’ homes in North America every day. While this distinction of being Nate-Certified decidedly sounds reaffirming, what does it truly mean?

NATE, an abbreviation for North American Technician Excellence, is the nation’s largest non-profit certification organization for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration technicians. NATE is the certification organization that was developed by and has been accepted by the entire HVACR industry for close to 20 years. Although, not all technicians in the field have to be NATE-Certified. The certification is non-mandatory and technicians can service heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration units without the accreditation.

It’s essential to Service Experts that our team is NATE-Certified to make sure we are sending the most qualified technicians into our customers’ homes. To make sure technicians meet these standards, the NATE-Certification exams validate real-world working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems for technicians. The assessments are knowledge-based exams that measure the technician’s understanding of these rules.

Considering Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning focuses largely on the HVAC side of NATE-Certification, our technicians achieve their designations in these areas. However, NATE assessment candidates may gain certification in one or more of these areas:

  • Air Conditioning
  • Air Distribution
  • Gas Heating
  • Oil Heating
  • Heat Pumps
  • Hydronic Gas (service only)
  • Hydronics Oil (service only)
  • Light Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
  • Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
  • Ground Source Heat Pump Loop Installer
  • Senior HVAC Efficiency Analyst

You can be sure that the technicians at Service Experts are highly competent and professional and will do the job the proper way the first time. Our company has the know-how and skill set to not only repair your HVAC systems, but to take the best care of your equipment.
