4 Signs it's Time to Replace your Boiler

March 04, 2017

Is it time to replace your new boiler? Climate Control Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with some indicators to look for when determining whether it’s time to buy a new boiler.

Age

If your condensing boiler receives routine maintenance, you can expect it to function about 15 years or more. Cast iron boilers can last a lot longer, even up to 50 years with proper maintenance. If your condensing boiler is almost 15 years or your cast iron boiler is getting close to 50 years, it may be time to think about an upgrade.

Bills

If your utility bills are going up or you’re having to call an expert about your boiler more frequently, it could be because it’s time to invest in a new, more efficient boiler.

Discoloration

If you see yellow flames on the gas burners and black soot on oil burners it could be a sign that the fuel is not burning adequately and could be generating carbon monoxide. If you observe these issues or have any concerns about carbon monoxide in your home, you should call Climate Control Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning or your gas company immediately.

Comfort

If some of the areas in your home are too cool or too warm and you can’t seem to control them correctly or get them comfortable, it could be that your boiler is not effective anymore and you might need to look into upgrade options.
